Responsibilities
- Provide attentive support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote proper nutrition
- Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfers to prevent injury
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces through regular cleaning duties, laundry, and sanitation practices
- Document care activities meticulously, including patient observations, medication logs, and incident reports to ensure compliance and continuity of care
Requirements
- Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments, including working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care such as Alzheimer’s or memory care
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is essential; additional training in hospice care or working with autism is a plus
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques, vital signs measurement, and medication administration protocols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and protect resident privacy
- Experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring long-term care support
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, residents, and families
